A bad review can be good for business

I found this to be an interesting read, and very true. (As written by Andy Beal, http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/ )  Everyone wants a perfect score of their services, but these five reasons for a less than perfect score, shows how beneficial that mark down can be. At Fresh from the Kitchen, we strive for excellency, aim for perfection, and consistantly improve and get better and better with every review.

Five reasons a bad review is a good one
1. Your need to know. If your products or services are crap, then you need to know about it. It’s better to hear it from your customers–so you can fix it–than never know about it and wonder why your sales suck.

2. Build credibility. As Goodman points out, negative reviews add authenticity to your reputation. Consumers are smart–mostly–and they know that if you have 1000 customers, a few will be upset over something. Take a look at the hotel industry. Just about every hotel has a review that mentions dirty sheets, cockroaches, or rude staff. Yet we still stay in hotels. We just look for the ones that have the best overall reviews.

3. Fix the problem. Research suggests that a customer will tell ten people about a negative experience with a business. However, if you fix the problem to their satisfaction, they’ll tell twenty people how happy they are! Look for negative reviews and fix the problem!

4. Show you care. Potential customers look at how you handled the situation. If you do find yourself with a negative review or critique, rectifying the situation publicly will demonstrate to potential customers that you care about your reputation–and your customers.

5. Learn from competitors’ mistakes. Don’t just read your negative reviews, read those of your competitors. If you learn where your rivals keep slipping-up, you can fine-tune your offering to make sure you don’t make the same mistake. Better still, how about reaching out to an unhappy customer of one of your competitors and fixing their problem–you could win a new customer for life!

Wedding Art

After a beautiful ceremony, imagine the reaction of guests when they enter the reception area and see a hand-drawn charcoal portrait of the bride and groom on an elegant easel. Next to their portrait is a flat screen TV playing a video. The video begins with a message from the bride and groom, asking their guests to help commemorate their special day by signing the matted area of the Signature Portrait. While they sip cocktails, guests watch in awe as the portrait comes to life in minutes to the tune of the couple’s favorite love song playing in the background. This is for the bride who is looking for something unique that is sure to inspire conversations.

This is what is done by Anthony Sobrino, owener and artist of My Wedding Masterpiece. Click on a link below to view him sketching the royal kiss.

A Persian Wedding

It was a beautiful not to chilly day on January 29, 2011 when Nili and Jose said their vows to each other with 70 of their closest friends and family. The bride was stunning, the decor and florals flawless, and the food was of course AMAZING!
Fresh from the Kitchen handled the decor, set-up, rentals, food, and bar tending, while our good friend Jen Colvin did the flowers, and our newest friend Bradford Jones did the photos.
It was a night to remember! The bride and groom were real foodies. Here is their menu below.

Pre and post ceremony:

Artisan Cheese, Cracker, and Bread Display (6)

Assorted Roasted Nuts (3.5)

Assorted Olives (3.5)

Passed Prosecco

Chicken and Vegetable Empanadas (passed)

Roast Beef and Horseradish Cream Crostini (passed)

Dinner:

Individual Rosemary-Garlic Lamb Chops (carving station)

Lemon and Dill Baked Fresh Wild Salmon

Butternut Squash Raviolis (action station)

Garden Salad and Curried Chicken Salad

Roasted Vegetable Display with Winter Squash and French Green Beans

Wedding Cake

Groom’s Cake: Flourless Chocolate Ganache

Coffee

The honey and rock sugar is a symbol of fertility and prosperity for the couple. The beautiful flower arrangements reflected the happiness in the room, and they really popped against the tables that had the satin eggplant linens.
Curry Chicken Salad

 Roasted Vegetable Platters
The happy couple enjoying their meal.

Cake flavors: White Chocolate Champagne with Espresso Cream Filling
Top tier: Lemon Cake filled with lemon mousse and fresh blueberries
Frosted in Italian Buttercream

Thank you everyone that made this wedding beautiful!
Make the call today that will make your wedding memorable for years to come!
Theresa Noble

Special thanks to Bradford Jones Photography for the images.
